Wisps
of early morning mist shroud the dark waters
of the Wilderness Lakes' District. The sun
rises and as it blazes its trail westward
the sands and sea of Wilderness Beach stretch
in the warmth. A whale flips a lazy fin
in the brilliant blue waters; small waves
lace the edges of the sparkling white sands.
A lone runner leaves a tiny trail of footprints
behind him in the sand as he jogs towards
Gericke's Point. The trees of the Groeneweide
Forest are tall and dense, a panoply of
green that marches down the mountainside
to stand sentinel at the edges of the manicured
lawns. |
